The Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals (IMN) is a state-owned research centre of the Polish non-ferrous industry, with activities covering all stages of metallic materials production from ore treatment to products. IMN has R&D staff of almost 170 employees, and technical and production sectors with 260 employees, with expertise on: processing of non-ferrous ores and other mineral resources; pyrometallurgy and hydrometallurgy; analytical chemistry; processing of metals and alloys; materials engineering; processing of scraps and wastes; environmental protection; chemical power sources; experimental plants.

In EXTREME the IMN is involved in activities for fabrication of materials and surface treatments, materials characterization and testing, and recovering technologies.
